Nightmare interview at the Ermal Festival 2009

For those who don’t know you, introduce yourselves!

Band – I’m Jo Amore, the singer of Nightmare.

I’m David Amore, his brother, and I’m the drummer of Nightmare.

I’m Yves, the bass player.

I’m Jc Jess, I play the guitar.

And I’m Franck, I also play guitar!

So far, what are you thinking of being here in Portugal? How was the concert?

Yves – It was great! It was our first time here, so we didn’t know what to expect, but it was absolutely amazing, we weren’t expecting such response from the audience! It’s the first show for the promotion of the new album, so it was a big proof for us to start here in Portugal, we used to play more in France, and it was the restart of promotion for this album… it was really great!

Since you have a new album, are you planning to return to play it in Portugal?

Yves – Yeh, we would love it!! Our manager wants to arrange a date or two for us to play.

Tell us about the new album, Insurrection.

Yves – We walked differently from the previous album, we recorded in three different studios and we took a lot of time for this album, for the recording process, to be more comfortable with what we wanted… so we recorded the guitars in Germany, the vocals in the south of France, we recorded in Jc Jess studio, in France.

Jo Amore – It was a new recording process, ‘cause we recorded in different places and I think it was a good idea, `cause we had the best on the guitars, the best on the vocals and the best on the mixes, I think it’s new and I think it’s a good stuff!

How’s metal scene in France?

Jo Amore - It’s difficult to have a good place in the media, on television it’s impossible in France if you do metal and even radios are difficult.

David Amore - There’s no metal radios, that’s the problem!

Yves – The major media is still doing pop music, all that stuff that sells a lot and don’t care for metal and underground music. We have festivals in France with 60,000 people, but still media don’t care! Even Germany, which has a bigger scene has the same problem, it’s only pop music on tv / radio… Madonna, Britney Spears… they don’t display a lot metal.

Line-up:

Franck Milleliri – Guitar

Jo Amore – Vocals

Yves Campion – Bass

David Amore – Drums

Jc Jess – Guitar
